Oncologist Physician - Carson Valley, NV - Critical Access Hospital near beautiful Lake Tahoe

Position Purpose

Diagnosis and management of adult malignancies both benign and malignant, including use of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatment. Oversight of infusion therapy and management of disease-related symptoms.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent obtains history, examines, diagnoses, counsels, and treats patients within the physician's area of specialty and experience. The incumbent makes critical decisions regarding medical care. The incumbent works closely and in cooperation with the management staff, directs comments and questions to the appropriate management person and follows administrative policies. The incumbent actively participates in physician governance meetings, management decisions, and follows policies adopted by Carson Valley Health and its medical staff. The incumbent stays abreast of current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending in‑services and educational meetings, and attending continuing medical education programs in the appropriate field.

Responsibilities

Clinical :

Provides clinical management and services of patients with identified diagnoses :

• Malignancies, both liquid and solid tumors.

May provide clinical oversight and supervision of the Medical Oncology Advance Practice Practitioners as requested, including :

Administrative :

Quality Improvement :

Research : Serves as a resource for cancer research, infusion and medical oncology staff and actively enrolls patients that meet criteria for a clinical trial.

Ability to function effectively in an integrated delivery system.
