Job description

Agency Satff Parking:

  • Complimentary parking for agency staff is located in the Car Park 4 Parking Structure of the Anaheim Convention Center. Access to this garage is off of West St, at 1862 West St. Anaheim, CA 92802. When you arrive at the garage, you must present this unique parking pass to enter. This pass can be displayed on your phone or printed. Please note, parking in any other surface lots or garages will not be covered, and there will be no reimbursement if you park at an incorrect location. Once parked, follow the southern pedestrian hallway (located on the ground floor) that connects the parking garage to Hall E.

Check-in:

  • All agency staff must check-in at the volunteer check-in desk located in Hall E (next to athlete registration) on the lower level under Hall D. Check-in for your shift will open no sooner than 20 minutes before your posted shift time. You must arrive by the start of your shift time, so please ensure that you factor any variables such as traffic, public transportation schedules, and walking time. You may not check-in for any shift that is on a different day/time ahead of time

Overview:

  • We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic event staff to assist with a high-energy fitness competition. This role requires strong customer service skills, physical endurance, and adaptability to ensure a well-organized and successful event.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving fitness equipment such as barbells, dumbbells, and weights.
  • Direct athletes and spectators to the appropriate areas.
  • Provide customer service support, answering questions and assisting attendees as needed.
  • Move and transport boxes/equipment to keep the event space organized.
  • Stay actively engaged and attentive throughout the entire shift.
  • Be flexible and open to reassignments within different areas of the event.
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and friendly appearance at all times.
  • Direct participant inquiries to event supervisors or staff when necessary.
  • Perform additional event-related tasks as needed.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods no exceptions.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfort handling fitness equipment such as barbells, dumbbells, and weight plates.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • Previous event staffing, athletic, or fitness-related experience is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to stay professional and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Zero Drug Tolerance Policy

Bluecrew maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol in the workplace. If you are suspected to be under the influence or smell of marijuana, you will be asked to leave immediately with no pay for that shift. Please be mindful and represent Bluecrew with professionalism and respect at all times.

Timekeeping:

  • You must sign in/out on the paper timesheet with a Bluecrew team lead
  • Recomended to bring a lunch

Event Staff/Food Service

When working in Event Staff or Food Service Position through Bluecrew, you may be expected to do any and all of the following:

  • Working independently or in a team to cook, prepare, serve, or transport food items
  • Engaging with customers while operating a point of sale machine or cash register in a professional and courteous manner
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, or other items at the start or end of your shift
  • Work on your feet, either stationary or constantly moving for the full shift
  • Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities at times, as required by the immediate supervisor
  • Comfortable working in a busy and at times hectic environment
  • There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
  • Note for that for any event staff position that requires handling food, you will need to follow GMP guidelines which include keeping your hair up, neatly trimmed fingernails, and you may be required to cover any facial hair.

It is important to Bluecrew that you go home in the same healthy state that you came to work in, so please do not accept this assignment if you cannot fulfill all of the above duties.
