The system includes Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital, Rumford Hospital, and a range of specialty services.\n\nCentral Maine Healthcare is looking for a Temporary Registered Nurse to join their team on the Cardiopulmonary unit. This full-time, 36-hour night shift position is available on a temporary basis for 13 weeks, with the potential for a 13-week extension for a total of 26 weeks. - Manage individualized direct patient care for pediatric through geriatric patients, promoting and restoring health through nursing process.\n
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.\n
- Provide exceptional patient experience by supporting and educating patients and families.\n
- Advocate for patients while following a plan of care and responding to changes in condition.\n
- Obtain nursing history, perform assessment, and develop plan of care.\n
- Perform head-to-toe assessment and reassess as per policy for adult, geriatric, and general patients.\n
- Prioritize care during high acuity situations and consider standard of care for patient's age.\n
- Administer medications correctly, applying five medication rights and reducing errors.\n
- Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.\n
- Start peripheral IVs and provide post-surgical patient care.\n
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity.\n
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious / spiritual needs.\n
- Act as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.\n
- Communicate appropriately with leadership, nursing staff, and providers.\n
- Maintain adequate documentation, equipment safety, and patient safety standards.\n
- Coordinate and supervise patient care as needed.\n
- Demonstrate flexibility and organization under stressful situations.\n
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment for patients and families.\n
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.\n
- Consult with other health team members or departments for an interdisciplinary approach.\n
- Perform other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\n\nEducation and Experience : \n
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.\n
- Current Registered Nurse License in Maine; BSN preferred.\n
- American Heart Association BLS required; ACLS, BLS (PALS desired) preferred.\n
- TNCC desired.\n\nPreferred : \n
- One year of nursing experience.\n
- Bilingual.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities : \n
