Essential Job Functions :
- Manage a large portfolio of customer accounts by staying organized, prioritizing tasks, and using strong time management skills to meet collection goals
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts
- Resolve billing discrepancies and customer disputes
- Maintain accurate records of collection activities and communications by documenting in the company’s system
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to support account resolution
- Prepare reports for management on collection status and risk exposure
- Assist with legal documents for the Corporate Credit Manager, as needed
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
Strong understanding of credit principles, collections processes, and financial documentationProficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelExcellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsAbility to analyze data and make informed decisionsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailEducation Requirements :
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Leadership Responsibilities :
While this role does not include direct supervisory duties, the specialist will :
Take ownership of assigned accounts and collection strategiesLead initiatives to improve collection efficiency and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and Accounts Receivable write-offsProvide insights and recommendations to leadership on credit risk trendsPreferred Experience and Skills :
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment industries is a plusKnowledge of lien laws, collections regulations, and dispute resolution practicesAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPhysical and Mental Requirements :
Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computerClear verbal and written communicationStrong focus and mental agility for handling complex account issuesWork Environment :
