Supervisor, Source Inspection
This is a highly quality-centric position and requires deep technical understanding of Manufacturing processes and practical experience with QA / QC practices. The focus of the Supervisor includes managing a remote team of quality inspectors, their inspection scheduling, supplier approval for inspections, and support development to address quality gaps. An ideal candidate would be a go getter personality with expertise in Quality processes and a strong desire to take on new challenges in unfamiliar areas to help enable our mission to Mars.
Responsibilities :
- Owns program to evaluate conformity of purchased parts to purchase order requirements
- Assists in developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions
- Develops and implements changes in working conditions and procedures
- Spends ~25% of time with suppliers to understand the work environment
- Analyzes and resolves work problems
- Interfaces with Procurement, SCE team, Production and other cross-functional teams
- Interfaces with suppliers and internal SpaceX stakeholders
- Leads cross-functional discussions on inspection operations
- Supports, maintains, and effectively communicates the program metrics
- Performs supervisor duties
- Balances business priorities to schedule remotely based source inspection resources effectively
- Works with leadership, source inspectors, and human resources to resolve issues
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, manufacturing or quality assurance1+ years of experience leading people, teams, or technical projectsPreferred Skills and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in an engineering disciplineAnalytical skills with the ability to interpret dataExperience in a direct management roleAbility to understand basic purchase orders quality requirementsLeadership skills and experience in project managementTechnical problem-solving skills and strong communication skillsDetail-oriented, organized, flexible, and demonstrate a high sense of urgencyComputer literacy including ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookKnowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection tools and methodsISO 9001 / AS9100 / 9102 experienceLean / 6-Sigma or other formal continuous improvement experienceAdditional Requirements :

Pay range : Supervisor : $105,000.00 - $135,000.00 / per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations : job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
