Pride Health is hiring for a Radiology Technologist to support our client’s medical facility based in Garden City, KS . This is a local contract or travel contract opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department, maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
- Perform high-quality diagnostic radiology procedures while adhering to radiation safety standards (ALARA principle).
- Produce accurate and timely diagnostic images.
- Prepare and educate patients and families about procedures, addressing physical and emotional needs.
- Assist and position patients during exams; observe and document patient condition and equipment status.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal use of imaging equipment and resources.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging staff, students, and hospital personnel to support continuum of care.
- Assist with patient transport as needed.
- Perform IV starts and administer contrast materials as required.
- Perform technologist duties of other registered modalities as assigned.
- Provide on-call coverage as per department / facility policy.
- Accurately input charges and required data for procedures and supplies.
- Complete required hospital and medical imaging documentation for each exam.
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and materials prior to procedures.
- Maintain technical operation of equipment, report malfunctions, and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces for staff and patients.
- Conduct quality checks and document equipment maintenance per departmental protocols.
- Proactively identify problems and communicate with management for resolution.
- Establish and maintain professional rapport with physicians, staff, and other departments.
- Stay current on technical skills through ongoing education and share knowledge with staff.
Skills & Experience :
Knowledge of all aspects of diagnostic imaging, including surgery and trauma.Minimum of one year post-certification experience required to evaluate and / or instruct student radiographers.Previous Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.Ability to float to other facility locations within a 60-mile radius; may include duties outside original job scope per facility policy.Education & Certifications :
High School Diploma or GED required.Registered Technologist in Radiology (ARRT-R) required.Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.Licensed Radiology Technologist- Required for anyone working at a Kansas facilityAdditional Information :
