Job Description

Job Description :

Role Summary / Purpose

Join us in shaping the future for millions of cardholders and billions of transactions through cutting-edge products that empower consumers and drive merchant growth. At the heart of this innovation are the platforms that run our diverse applications — and you could be the architect behind them.

We are seeking an Enterprise Cloud Architect to lead complex application migration initiatives from traditional on-premises or data center environments to modern cloud platforms (primarily AWS, with exposure to Azure and GCP). This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud-native architectures, migration methodologies, and enterprise application landscapes, along with the leadership ability to guide engineering teams and influence stakeholders across IT, business, and operations. In this role you will also lead Enterprise Architecture and chair the Architecture Review Board.

This role will focus on application migration, design and oversight of our target cloud architecture. Your role will encompass planning and implementing migration strategies that are not only aligned with business goals but also scalable, secure, and cost-effective. You will evaluate and select optimal cloud services from leading providers to meet our dynamic organizational needs.  Collaborating closely with application teams, you will guide the development and ongoing maintenance of cloud-based applications and services, ensuring optimal performance while adhering to corporate policies and standards.

You’ll leverage state-of-the-art technologies, tools, and best practices within a forward-thinking, evolving company that values both your contributions and your work-life balance.

This is a pivotal time to join us. We are focused on growth and innovation within the financial technology sector, presenting countless opportunities for you to make a meaningful impact and advance your career.

We’ll depend on you to :

Define and own application migration roadmaps for enterprise portfolios.

Assess existing applications to determine optimal migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, replace).

Architect hybrid and cloud-native solutions ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Lead, architect, and review technological solutions that meet business requirements and deliver business value through modern software design, development, and delivery.

Drive, support and influence cloud strategies, application architecture and migration roadmaps while ensuring alignment with internal technical teams and business stakeholders.

Lead discovery, assessment, and dependency mapping of application landscapes.

Partner with application owners and development teams to adapt workloads for the cloud.

Work with teams to ensure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI / CD practices for repeatable efficient migrations.

Provide guidance and direction to project teams to ensure security, compliance, and governance requirements are met for migrated applications.

Collaborate with internal resources and third-party vendors to resolve issues and to understand the causes and provide solutions.

Establish monitoring and performance baselines before and after migration.

Work closely with engineering, security, finance (FinOps), and business stakeholders to align migration outcomes with strategic goals.

Mentor cloud engineers and solution architects on best practices for migration and cloud adoption.

Act as a subject matter expert in cloud transformation programs.

Maintain hands-on technical knowledge of AWS Service, cloud design principals and application architectures.

Enterprise Architect for SYF which will work with teams to develop and maintain the EA strategy, roadmap and standards that align with business goal.

Chair the Architecture Review Board and facilitate cross-domain architectural reviews ensuring ARB outcomes are transparent, documented and traceable to business and technical strategy.

Perform other duties and / or special projects as assigned.
