Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Hem / Onc / BMT RN with BMT / cellular therapy experience and an active OR RN license to join a pediatric oncology unit.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a pediatric oncology unit providing intermediate level of care for patients ages 0-18, with some cases up to age 25
  • Patient population includes leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood and immunological diseases, storage diseases, and Bone Marrow Transplants
  • Nurses support Hem / Onc / BMT patients in other units, including chemotherapy and central line management
  • Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated, teaching hospital
  • Night shifts, 3x12s (19 : 00-07 : 30), with weekend shifts required
  • Epic charting system is used; experience with Epic required
  • Floating required within the hospital; no floating to sister hospitals
  • No call requirements
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated unless otherwise posted
  • Main responsibilities include providing intermediate-level care and specialized support for pediatric Hem / Onc / BMT cases, including chemotherapy and central line management
  • Nurses may provide support to oncology patients in other hospital units as needed
  • Pre-start online modules are required and must be completed prior to assignment
  • Return staff must have at least 6 months since last assignment at this facility
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate; no mileage radius restrictions
  • RTO (time off) must be submitted up front and is limited to a maximum of 1 week
  • Hospital-provided scrubs are required with no prints allowed
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active OR RN license is required or pending license application must be submitted prior to consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric oncology and BMT / cellular therapy experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS, PALS, and chemotherapy / biotherapy provider card by APHON or ONS
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must provide two manager or supervisor references from the past 24 months, with specific guidelines for former or returning staff
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof is required with no exemptions
  • First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years relevant experience
  • No background or license history concerns accepted
