To better support complex projects, Helix Electric has a need for an Electrical Trainee.

Duties & Scope :

• Assist with assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial and residential settings.
• Prepares work area for installation of equipment.
• Installs or assists with installation of electrical components.
• Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification.
• Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate.
• Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems.
• Learning or be able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.
• Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans.
• Secure and lock up equipment after use.
• A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
• Excellent working knowledge of the building codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Assist with complex electrical installations in a fast-paced and fast-production environment.
• Be proficient in type NM (Romex) and / or MC wiring methods is a plus.
• Work from all type ladders (step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by oneself.
• Employee's personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (Class 1-250 lbs., Class 1A-300 lbs.).

Physical Demands :

The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $33 - $41 / hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
