Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Nashville, TN 37207 (Tennessee nursing jobs)

Unit : Trauma Med / Surg Unit (34 beds)

Assignment Type : Travel RN, On-Site

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : February 23, 2026

Duration : 13-week travel nursing contract

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Schedule : 3 shifts / week (36 hours), including 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530 - $1640 per week

Support Staff : Tech support on all shifts; unit secretary available 7a–7p

EMR : Meditech documentation system

Dress Code : Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state

BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience

Strong clinical skills in prioritizing patient care, multitasking, and delivering compassionate, attentive healthcare

Proficient in IV starts, basic wound care, and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse medical-surgical population

Monitor and assess patients, administer medications, and perform physician-ordered treatments

Start IVs, perform wound care, and manage surgical drains, NG tubes, and chest tubes

Operate hospital equipment : IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology

Document all care and assessments accurately in Meditech EMR

Participate in bedside shift reports and foster strong patient and family relationships

Float to other hospital units as needed per rotation policy
