Clinical Therapist / Psychotherapist

Location : Brooklyn / Deer Park (4 days per week commuting to the Brooklyn office and 1 day per week to Deer Park, LI office).

Department : 29i Mental Health / EFFC

PURPOSE OF POSITION : Provide clinical therapy services to children and adolescents in foster care settings, with a focus on supporting their emotional and behavioral health.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Provide therapy services for children and adolescents in regular and therapeutic foster care.
  • Provide family therapy services as indicated.

Knowledge in one or more of the following areas : Child and adolescent development.

Mental health and Emotional / behavioral health.

Parent-child relationships, family dynamics; and diagnostic classification.

  • Collaborate with other foster care colleagues, such as caseworker staff and home finding staff.
  • Comply with all Medicaid, 29i and ACS protocols
  • Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
  • Candidates should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete all required case documentation in the Electronic Case Record.

    • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of social work degree from an accredited school of social work -limited permit or limited permit eligible.
  • Master’s degree in mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy or clinical psychology -limited permit or limited permit eligible.
