About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Probate and Trust Administration Paralegal to join our legal team in Deerfield, IL. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and fiduciaries in managing estate and trust matters from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Estate & Trust Administration
Assist attorneys with all aspects of estate planning, probate filings, and trust administration.
Document Preparation
Draft and file probate pleadings, fiduciary reports, deeds (Lady Bird, Trustee, Personal Representative), and Certificates of Trust.
Client & Beneficiary Communication
Serve as a liaison with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and title companies.
Asset Coordination
Support asset collection, valuation, and distribution; manage funding of trusts and related documentation.
Court & Compliance
File court documents, track deadlines, and stay current on probate procedures and relevant laws.
Administrative Support
Maintain organized client files, manage calendars, and assist with bookkeeping and invoicing as needed.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in probate and trust administration (4+ years preferred).
Paralegal certification or relevant legal education preferred.
Proficiency in legal software such as WealthCounsel, Clio, Netdocs, or similar platforms.
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Familiarity with Illinois probate court procedures and estate tax filings.
