Summary :

Performs breast imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities :

Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.Prepares and administers contrast media and / or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports / responds to changes in status as appropriate.Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and / or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes images and identifies issues with the quality of images. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure if clinically appropriate.Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.

Accredited Program : Radiology (Required)ARRT_American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS), Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Additional Job Information :

Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Work Experience : One (1) year of technologist experience in a healthcare setting.Other Information :

• Registered as a Technologist (RT) and registered in mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).Additional Education Info : Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist programAdditional Credential Info : Registered as a Technologist (RT) and registered in mammography (M) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
