Senior Data Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Data Engineer in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for leading administration of technology by contributing expertise in researching new technologies and proposing cost effective solutions.

Essential Functions

• Provides technical input to feature development plans and concept documents
• Understands production and operations issues as they relate to engineering
• Develops scalable, extensible solution architectures leveraging contemporary big-data technologies in an evolving operational framework
• Analyzes existing data structures and recommends improvements

Works closely with other engineers to design, develop, test, and implement new data pipelines using technologies like MapReduce, Spark, SQL, and SSIS

Works closely with other engineers to support, maintain and improve existing data pipelines using technologies like MapReduce, Spark, SQL, and SSIS

Works closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and build data presentations using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI
