Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities :
- Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types of civil-site built environments and infrastructure for large scale land developments, master planned communities, mixed used projects, roadway and utility, and streetscape enhancements
- Evaluate design / construction -related deficiencies associated with grading and drainage, stormwater conveyance, underground utility systems, erosion control, concrete flatwork, asphalt pavements, and hardscape systems
- Experience with :
design of site-visibility at intersections, vehicular use areas, parking lots, pedestrian and vehicular ingress / egress ways
the applicability of MUTCD, ADA standards, and Sunshine 811 markingspreparation, permitting, and construction implementation of civil / site construction plans related to FDOT, water management districts, and various municipalitiesmunicipal zoning and variance hearingsConduct unbiased investigations for various types of clientsResponsible for retention and development of client relationsPrepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediationDeliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groupsAbility to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedingsMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesPosition Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering requiredMinimum of five (5) years of civil / site development experienceP. E. (Professional Engineer) registration required through testingMust possess strong writing skillsPublic speaking experience a plusExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical Requirements :
Ability to travel on a variable schedule, including 50% of the time locally and 20% of the time overnightAbility to lift 50 lbsAbility to climb ladders and inspect roofsAbility to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spacesAbility to drive to site locations and fly on airplanes, at times at unpredictable hoursAbility to effectively communicate with clients and colleaguesAbility to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work siteBenefits :
