Shipping / Receiving Clerk

Shipping / Receiving clerks are responsible for tracking deliveries and troubleshooting order issues with suppliers and in charge of all items that are shipped from the company. They support shipping and receiving activities for domestic and export sales orders. Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products; expedite missing material.

Key responsibilities include :

• Prepare documents such as address labels / shipping orders and issue these to warehousers for shipping preparation.
• Ship or route orders utilizing the ERP system and update the system with the carrier (vendor) information and tracking number.
• Issue MO's to production and warehouse floor and update ERP system.
• Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
• Determine shipping method for materials to departments, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Communicate with both internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain shipping records and record shipping records such as weight, charges, space availability for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
• Receive products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks at the loading docks
• Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list
• Update the product inventory as products are received and added to our inventory
• Print tally's and attach to freight.
• Responsible for communicating any safety issues with the dock
• Work with Planners and Buyers when there is an issue with packing slips
• Work with Accounts payable on issues with receipts
• Communicate with 311 receiving about shuttles and cross docks
• Contact certain Vendors with material issues
• Process orders in I buy
