Job Description :

The Interventional Radiology Technician participates in the diagnosis and treatment of patients undergoing invasive radiographic procedures. Assisting in the various invasive and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite. Monitors patients in the Interventional Radiology area while providing quality patient care and performing high quality images and exams while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs. This role follows standards of safe radiation practice and demonstrates leadership abilities, while also acting as a clinical resource to the unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit.

Responsibilities :

• Associate performs quality Diagnostic procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
• He / she operates diagnostic equipment and processes images.
• Associate prepares patient’s X-ray room, equipment, supplies and medication as indicated and delivers patient services using various imaging modalities.
• Associate practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.
• He / she maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff and co- workers.
• Supports and helps achieve the departmental and hospital goals.
• Training of practitioners and other staff in relevant aspects of radiation protection.
