Description

  • Evaluate patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create customized treatment strategies that cater to both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing demands.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing personnel, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to bolster progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Support with sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments ensuring seamless care throughout the patient journey.
  • Prepare precise and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Advance your knowledge and skills by engaging in continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be secured within 30 days of employment.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based practice for varied age groups, coupled with a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to modify therapeutic techniques tailored to meet diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment alongside effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and related documentation norms.
