About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Accounting to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving the company's members and overseeing internal accounting operations, including share draft operations. This role requires maintaining a high level of knowledge in payment systems processes, practices, and regulations to ensure compliance and effective risk management. The AVP will also supervise and coordinate accounting and share draft staff, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP, and file regulatory reports as necessary. Additionally, the role involves balancing and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing for annual audits, and managing a full range of HR activities for direct reports.

Applicants for the AVP of Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in general financial accounting. Experience in a financial institution, particularly with an understanding of credit union philosophy and regulations, is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, math, and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have a proven track record of at least 3 years in a supervisory role. A thorough knowledge of GAAP is essential, and a CPA or MBA, as well as experience with Symitar or Jack Henry systems, is a plus. The role demands a professional who can maintain strict confidentiality, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of teamwork within the organization.
