Key Job Details – Medical / Surgical RN Travel Assignment Location : Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois healthcare hub) Setting : Medical Acute Care Unit (20 beds) Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours / week Estimated Weekly Pay : $1990 - $2130 per week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Holiday Requirement : 3 of 6 holidays / year Charting System : EPIC (preferred for travel nursing jobs) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application (required for Illinois healthcare jobs) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Medical / Surgical nursing experience Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, general medical unit Negative drug screen required Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care to adults with a range of general medical diagnoses Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care technicians Monitor patient status, assess changes in condition, and respond promptly Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for accurate clinical documentation Float to other hospital units as needed to support staffing needs Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required by the hospital Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards Experience the best of Illinois nursing jobs in Peoria—where city amenities meet scenic outdoor spaces, and your clinical expertise makes a real impact.
