Work Location : 100% remote in the US (working EST Hours)

Compensation Range : $150,000 - $170,000 / year + benefits|

Start Date : October 2025 (2 weeks from offer acceptance)

ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE

Medix is currently seeking a PostgreSQL Development DBA / Data Engineer for a full time / direct hire opportunity with our Health System Client, located on the East Coast. With 13 operational hospitals and 30,000 employees, our client is an established network of care for over 1 million patients each year.

This role will be joining the centralized data team as the Senior most Engineer focused on PostgreSQL Performance Tuning and Optimization. We are seeking individuals who had a minimum of 10 years experience, and a subject matter expertise in PostgreSQL Development DBA work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working in a Development DBA capacity, and partnering closely with Application Development teams
• Providing dedicated PostgreSQL indexing and performance tuning expertise
• Optimizing PostgreSQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes to keep applications running smoothly.
• Optimizing queries, stored procedures, and supporting structures
• Conducting PostgreSQL query performance, ensuring clean backend data to avoid bottlenecks.
• Working extensively with Foreign Data Wrappers (FDW) to access data stored in disparate external servers.
• Supporting data masking and data security posture management / data usage tracking
• Supporting audit logging requirements for HIPAA-compliant applications.
