We are working with a client in Baton Rouge looking for a Human Resources and Payroll Administrator. This role is responsible for managing and executing payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and supporting HR functions to ensure compliance and efficiency. This role serves as a key liaison between HR, Finance, and employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll and HR administration.

Key Responsibilities :

Payroll Administration :

Process bi-weekly / monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits and reporting.

Handle payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies.

HR Support :

Maintain and update employee records in HRIS systems.

Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire documentation and exit interviews.

Support benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and terminations.

Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.

Generate HR reports and support data analysis for decision-making.

Compliance & Reporting :

Prepare and submit required payroll and HR reports to government agencies.

Assist with internal and external audits.

Stay current with changes in payroll and employment laws.

Qualifications :

2+ years of experience in payroll and HR administration.

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto) and HRIS systems.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations and labor laws.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Experience with ADP Payroll Plus is ideal

Knowledge of benefits administration and compliance (e.g., ACA, FMLA).

Certification such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or PHR (Professional in Human Resources) is a plus.
