About Youth Opportunity & New Hope Youth Center
Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Our New Hope Youth Center in New Hope, Michigan, provides trauma-informed short-term and long-term residential care for females ages 10-17 who have experienced abuse or neglect.
We support youth who present with behavioral and mental health needs, offering a structured, therapeutic environment focused on individualized mental health services. Programming includes individual, family, and group therapy, life skills training, and educational services designed to help youth build a foundation for a successful and healthy future. The typical length of stay depends on the youths progress toward individualized treatment goals and securing appropriate aftercare placement.
We are a 24 / 7, 365-day-a-year facility dedicated to healing, treatment, and ongoing support as youth work toward reintegration into their communities.

The Shift Supervisor oversees facility operations and supervises direct care staff during assigned shifts. Responsibilities include supervision of personnel, monitoring youth activities, ensuring policy and safety compliance, and coordinating daily operations to promote a structured and safe environment.
Supervise staff, assign duties, evaluate performance, and provide feedbackMaintain communication with leadership regarding staff performance and issuesDevelop schedules, manage staff coverage, and oversee shift operationsCoordinate youth appointments, transportation, and intake / discharge proceduresEnsure compliance with state regulations, safety protocols, and behavior management systemsAdminister medication and maintain accurate documentationMonitor facility security through checks and searchesComplete detailed reports on incidents, staffing, youth behavior, and maintenance needsLead emergency response efforts during incidents such as fire or severe weatherOther Duties Include
Maintain high standards of role model behavior for youthParticipate in training and development activities as requiredReport incidents or concerns involving youth or staffPerform other duties as assignedRequirements
Education :
High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferredExperience :
Minimum three years working with youth in residential treatment, with behavioral health or substance abuse needsSupervisory experience preferredSkills :
First Aid / CPR (or ability to obtain)Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to interact with youth and stakeholders professionallyKnowledge of trauma-informed care and behavior management practicesPhysical Demands :
Must be in good health and able to participate in physical activities with youthAbility to lift up to 30 lbs and intervene physically if necessaryAbility to transport youth and staffOther :
