American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical night shift position with a minimum of two years of experience and an active ND or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 30-bed Med Surg unit within an acute care hospital settingPatient population includes post-surgical cases such as total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, urology and abdominal procedures, bariatrics, and medical overflowNight shift schedule with 12-hour shifts and every other weekend requiredNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 on days and 1 : 5-6 on nightsFirst to float to other medical and telemetry units as neededCommonly work with hemo hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies, occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPNEpic EMR system in useResponsible for bedside shift reports and patient handoffsTeam has a charge nurse each shift and a patient care tech with a 1 : 12 ratio for techsNurses are not required to read their own telemetry strips; remote monitoring is in placeAny color scrubs are acceptableClose-knit, supportive unit cultureHoliday coverage may be required as neededFirst time travelers are welcomedAll requested time off must be submitted up front (7 days or less per 13 week contract); additional requests will not be approved\n \n Requirements\n
Active North Dakota or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedBasic Life Support (BLS) certification required and must be activeMinimum two years of recent Med Surg RN experienceExperience with post-op and early ambulation preferredMust provide two professional references (one supervisor from the last 12 months and another supervisor or peer from the past three years)Copy of driver's license must be submitted for considerationCandidates must not currently be or have been employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity) in the past yearCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
