Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical night shift position with a minimum of two years of experience and an active ND or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

Work in a 30-bed Med Surg unit within an acute care hospital setting

Patient population includes post-surgical cases such as total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, urology and abdominal procedures, bariatrics, and medical overflow

Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts and every other weekend required

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 on days and 1 : 5-6 on nights

First to float to other medical and telemetry units as needed

Commonly work with hemo hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies, occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN

Epic EMR system in use

Responsible for bedside shift reports and patient handoffs

Team has a charge nurse each shift and a patient care tech with a 1 : 12 ratio for techs

Nurses are not required to read their own telemetry strips; remote monitoring is in place

Any color scrubs are acceptable

Close-knit, supportive unit culture

Holiday coverage may be required as needed

First time travelers are welcomed

All requested time off must be submitted up front (7 days or less per 13 week contract); additional requests will not be approved

\n \n Requirements\n

Active North Dakota or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and must be active

Minimum two years of recent Med Surg RN experience

Experience with post-op and early ambulation preferred

Must provide two professional references (one supervisor from the last 12 months and another supervisor or peer from the past three years)

Copy of driver's license must be submitted for consideration

Candidates must not currently be or have been employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity) in the past year

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
