PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Wichita Falls, TX 76301 (Texas travel nursing jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float – Resource RN

Shifts : Night shifts, 12 hours (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM); 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts per week

Hours : 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 or 12 / 15 / 2025; End : 3 / 9 / 2026)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700–$1820

Patient Population : Adults & Geriatrics

Patient Ratios : Nights – 6 : 1

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in PCU, Med Surg, or ER holding (required)

Active Registered Nurse license (Texas or compact state, must be in hand before start)

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for all travel nurse jobs)

EPIC charting experience preferred

Previous travel nursing experience required

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Willingness to float between Med Surg, PCU, and ER holding units

Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in PCU, Med Surg, and ER holding units

Float as needed to support various hospital units based on staffing needs

Monitor and manage patients with complex medical conditions, including cardiac and respiratory cases

Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform blood product administration

Utilize Epic for accurate charting and clinical documentation

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services)

Respond to rapid response and code situations as required

Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols
