Production Manager Assembly

As the Production Manager Assembly, you will manage manufacturing and production teams. You are responsible for production schedule and for maintaining inventory of supplies and raw materials to keep production flowing smoothly. You'll enforce compliance with company procedures regarding safety, security, housekeeping, process documentation, standard operating procedures, and scrap management. Ensure that standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production. Initiate recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property. You will manage the activities of supervisors and / or individual contributors within your teams. You will partner with leadership and human resources for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.

You will contribute by :

• Overseeing and continuously reviewing the operational leadership group, supervisors and team leaders, for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Applying the annual review process for direct reports.
• Proactively pursuing improved levels of safety performance and evaluating countermeasures for safety issues.
• Proactively pursuing improved levels of quality performance and evaluating countermeasures for quality issues.
• Managing the roster to approved staffing levels.
• Continuously improving the base operating characteristics of the assigned area(s) - flexibility, delivery reliability, and team morale - across all shifts.
• Identifying and specifically developing future leaders through situational training, continuous feedback, and assigned course work.
• Establishing requirements for workplace 6S and deploying processes to meet those standards, being visitor-ready at all times.
• Partnering directly with leaders from other functions to pursue best "Total Rittal" solutions for operational challenges and cross-company issues.
• Coaching direct reports in the active pursuit of improved material flow and other methods to improve efficiency.
• Assisting manufacturing engineering in design and layout of work areas and minimizing all types of waste. Being the voice of the operation in any planning activities or discussions.
• Embracing and teaching principles to achieve a "World Class" manufacturing environment by use of established RPS teams.
• Continuously improving your own skills and competencies and acting as a role model in all your activities. Demonstrating effective project management skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
