Job Summary :

The Math Center Tutor provides academic support to students in mathematics courses. Tutors assist students in understanding mathematical concepts, solving problems, and improving performance in courses such as College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus.

Essential Job Functions :

Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessionsExplain mathematical concepts clearly and adapt explanations to students’ learning stylesAssist with homework, test preparation, and study strategiesEncourage critical thinking and problem-solvingMaintain a positive, professional learning environmentTrack student attendance and progress, reporting concerns to the Math Center CoordinatorAttend tutor training sessions and staff meetings

Qualifications :

Strong academic performance in mathematics coursesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience, empathy, and ability to motivate studentsReliable, professional, and able to work flexible hours
