VACANCY DESCRIPTION

Position Title : Diesel Mechanic

Gibson County School Bus Garage

Located in Trenton, TN - Services 5 school districts in Gibson County

Terms of Employment : Twelve Months (260 days)

Immediate Supervisor : Transportation Supervisor

Trenton Special School District

Salary : Negotiable

Participate in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS)

Qualifications / Preferences : CDL License (or will complete within 6 months)

Medium duty truck or school bus experience

Diesel experience Cummins

Diagnostic experience with newer electronic engine computer

Allison transmission experience

Diesel Mechanic Certification

Skills : Be a mature individual

Have the ability to conform to an established work schedule

Have effective interpersonal skills

Have the ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner

Have the ability to understand and follow instructions precisely

Have the ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without the loss of efficiency or composure

Responsibilities :

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following :

Provide preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, and repairs to school buses for the five school districts within Gibson County

Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Insure that buses are maintained to provide safe transportation

Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the District at all times

Physical Requirements :

Must have the ability to : Work outdoors in a variety of weather

Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping

Lift 75 to 100 lbs.
