Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg position requiring a KY or compact RN license, strong M / S skills, and the ability to float between campuses.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Hospital setting on a 45-bed Med / Surg unit with general surgical and medical patients
  • Patient population includes gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, orthopedic surgery, Covid, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory cases
  • Day shift position, 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30am to 7 : 00pm
  • Every third weekend and every other holiday required
  • First to float within skillset, including potential to float to nearby campuses with advance notice
  • Day shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-5
  • Uses Epic EMR, recent experience required
  • Duties may include precepting students and new-hires in a teaching hospital environment
  • Expect to work with a highly experienced staff and support team
  • Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required but subject to change
  • Three call-ins may result in termination
  • No on-call or call back responsibilities
  • Hours in orientation week may differ from standard schedule

  • Active KY or compact RN license required
  • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum two years of strong Med / Surg experience and at least one travel assignment required
  • Recent Epic charting experience required
  • Proficiency with PIV insertion, chest tube / indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEG / NG tube care, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, and dysphagia screening
  • Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Candidates must live outside a 40-mile radius of the facility
