Salary : $70,000 - $80,000 DOE

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot : Identify issues with small engines, including lawnmowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, and other equipment. Ability to diagnose, calibrate, and repair electronic fuel injection and hydraulic systems, using EFI & OEM software.
  • Repair and Maintain Commercial Lawn Equipment : Perform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance on small engines to ensure optimal performance. Types of equipment includes wheel loaders, skid loaders, compact and utility tractors, and commercial zero turn mowers.
  • Conduct Inspections : Inspect equipment to determine mechanical problems and perform tests to ensure engines are functioning correctly.
  • Customer Service : Communicate with shop manager about the status of repairs, service recommendations, and provide clear estimates for labor and parts.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment : Clean and store tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure longevity and safe operation.
  • Adhere to Safety Standards : Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Record Keeping : Maintain accurate service records, including parts used, labor hours, and work completed.
  • Perform Seasonal Maintenance : Provide specialized services for seasonal maintenance, such as winterization of engines or spring startup checks.
  • Assist with Training : Support new employees or trainees in learning proper techniques and safety protocols.
  • Qualifications

  • Physical Requirements :
  • Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and perform tasks like bending, climbing, squatting, and kneeling. Must have good eyesight and normal hearing for diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment.

    Mechanical Aptitude : Working knowledge of engine and hydraulic theory, the associated principles, and materials of equipment. Must have a mechanical talent and natural attraction to how machines work. Has a demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with equipment repair work.

  • Reading Skills : Comfortable reading and understanding service manuals, schematics, and parts diagrams.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills :
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.

  • Computer Skills : Skilled in using dealer management software.
  • Attention to Detail :
  • Documenting issues, verifying unit details, and following processes consistently.

  • Time Management and Efficiency : Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing based on urgency, and ensuring timely completion.
