Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or finance or equivalent experience required.
  • Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years’ experience in the hospital industry, with demonstrated experience in analytics, or equivalent experience required.
  • Healthcare background including experience with physician group practices required.
  • Strong Excel and logic skills with knowledge of database interaction.
  • Familiarity with Axiom and / or Workday Adaptive Planning product preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and experience with formal presentations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and company proprietary information.
  • Ability to relate professionally and positively with employees at many levels.

  • Position Summary

    The Director of Finance, JMCPG will play a critical role in transforming the financial planning function for the Jupiter Medical Center Physician Group (JMCPG) to drive forward-facing data analytics that align the financial, strategic, and operational goals of the organization. This leader will assist in reimagining how financial planning supports operational excellence and strategic growth, as well as resource optimization. The Director of Finance, JMCPG will be responsible for partnering with JMCPG leaders to support robust financial planning processes, developing valuable insights through the optimization of data reporting, leveraging costing capabilities and service line analytics to guide thoughtful decision-making.

    Director of Finance, JMCPG reports to the Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to the President of JMCPG. Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

    Finance :

  • Serves as a strategic partner, anticipating the needs of the organization and proactively sharing data and insights with Finance leadership and JMCPG leadership.
  • Collaborate with JMCPG leaders on business plans for adding new providers or expanding service lines.
  • Align departmental objectives with the organization’s broader strategic initiatives for growth, innovation, and patient excellence.
  • Contribute to long-term planning by identifying opportunities for operational and financial improvement.
  • Provide analysis for new and / or existing programs.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle to ensure accuracy of JMCPG RVU reporting, billing, and recorded revenue.
  • Assist Finance / Accounting team with other items and reports as required.
  • Budget :

  • Lead the annual process for creating the operating and capital budgets in partnership with JMCPG leadership.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of visit / RVU statistics, expense allocations, and alignment of FTEs by service line and location.
  • Analyze monthly performance to annual budget and offer insights regarding variance to plan and steps to mitigate unfavorable variances.
  • Reporting :

  • Standardize and automate financial processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability of financial reporting.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics such as RVUs, patient volumes, and revenue performance.
  • Partner with operational leaders to produce variance analyses and explanations for all JMCPG departments, including productivity and monthly operating reviews (MOR’s).
  • Maintain performance and ensure adequacy of reporting hardware and databases.
  • Maintain, improve, and create dashboards / reports in various systems.
  • Cost Accounting :

  • Partner with JMCPG leadership to ensure accuracy and optimization of costing data.
  • Produce service line analytics that support strategic decision making.
  • Ensure integrity of cost data, including scheduled uploads, downloads, and reconciliations.
  • Review allocations of expense to appropriate departments, as necessary.
  • Maintain Service Line logic and reporting.
  • Update and maintain cost accounting software and allocation templates.
  • Physician and Provider Relations :

  • Serve as the main point of contact for providers regarding compensation, RVUs, and billing matters.
  • Prepare year-end accruals for incentive and quality payouts.
  • Monitor productivity contracts to identify physicians approaching their caps and coordinate updates with the CFO, JMCPG President, and Legal teams.
  • Conduct quarterly or biannual reviews of provider contracts to ensure alignment between production calculations and standardized compensation across departments.
  • Partner with institute administrators to track contractual quality metric obligations and monitor outcomes.
  • Oversee the administration of annual provider payouts tied to quality performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks to maintain superior patient care and satisfaction.
  • Other :

  • Foster a service-oriented culture and close partnership with operational leaders.

  • Lead and / or serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams, and work groups as required.
