OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electrical Engineer role is a key part of the company’s engineering team and requires significant multi-tasking and exceptional communication skills across all aspects of the business. The role is responsible for ensuring that all electrical aspects related to product design including motors, sensors, connectors, cabling, control methods etc. are met. The successful candidate will :
- Create mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering inputs for conceptual trade studies and detailed proposal efforts
- Created detailed layouts for new applications
- Create and execute product design details, including checking, reviewing and approving drawings and change order, detailed piece part drawings w / tolerance and thermal studies
- Create reliability studies, fault trees, FMECA’s, system safety and hazard assessment, etc.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, suppliers, or customers
- Define, design, and support electrical test equipment for each product application
- Define the scope of work and oversee the effort of electrical engineer technical studies
- Ensure products are designed for produce ability and manufacturability (DFMA)
- Define, design, and support electro-mechanical and mechanical test equipment for product applications, including creation of automation codes if needed
- Hands on and willingness to work in the shop environment building prototypes and support production issues
- Ability to author proposals
- Ability to identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities
- Ability to manage programs from a blank sheet design
- Coordinate with supply chain and suppliers to utilize optimal manufacturing processes
- All other duties assigned by manager
Requirements :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent10+ years of related experience in a similar roleHave leadership capabilitiesCapability in software such as SolidWorks (A Plus), Speed, ANSYS Magnetics, MATLAB Simulink, LabVIEW or equivalentMicrosoft products, including advanced knowledge of ExcelExceptional analytical and mathematical backgroundWorking knowledge in geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T), ASME Y14.5-2018.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methodsKnowledge of aerospace drafting standards, configuration management, & aerospace and FAA requirementsHave in depth knowledge of motor design, manufacturing and control theoryKnowledge of certification / qualification testing per DO-160 or MIL-STD-810Knowledge of control systemsKnowledge of fault tolerant (redundant) systemsKnowledge of reliability, fault trees, FMECA’sKnowledge of PPAP’s and APQP’sKnowledge of aerospace software development, DO-178Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PWB layout, DO-254Excellent verbal and written communication skillsU.S. Citizen, no dual citizenship allowedDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
