Overall Duties
The Assistant Store Manager works with the Store Manager to develop business aligned with the brand’s strategy, manage the store, staff, merchandise and customer service. The role focuses on achieving sales objectives, building a highly motivated team, and providing ongoing staff development and support.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Stress importance of building a local clientele and new client base
- Assist associates with client service issues when needed
- Provide ongoing reinforcement of all aspects related to client service
Staff Development
Use training to refine and enhance team knowledge and expectationsImplement ongoing performance management to ensure sales and KPI goals are consistently metLeadership through example, maintain a strong floor presenceDevelop, implement and execute strategic business plans for the storeEnsure store environment emulates company DNAOperations
Assist in developing store aligning with brand’s objectivesMaintain inventory control following policies and procedures to protect assets and meet shrink goalsManage P&L for the store, controlling expenses and gross margin to achieve financial objectivesEnsure sell‑through and stock levels maximized for sales growthStore Visuals
Enforce merchandise standards as set by visual departmentMaintain and communicate strong product knowledgeConsistently uphold brand imageHuman Resources
Assist store manager with recruiting for staff opportunitiesSupervise store personnel, ensuring all company policies and procedures are followedCommunicate effectively with store team, co‑workers, and NY officeCreate a positive store atmosphere that consistently motivates the teamPerform other duties assigned from time to timeRequired Skills / Education
Minimum 3‑5 years of retail management experience; RTW luxury a plusProduct experience in luxury or high‑end retail strongly preferredStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAble to work independently as well as collaborativelyAbility to manage conflictBenefits
