Senior Associate, Emergency Management

Position Summary & Key Responsibilities
In this Senior Associate role, you'll lead projects in emergency management planning, organizational transformation, training, exercises, and community outreach. We are bringing innovative approaches to clients in the Bay Area as they prepare their communities to respond to, mitigate, and recover from disasters. To be successful in this role, you'll need to excel in four key areas :
- Project Management : Lead large projects in emergency management planning, organizational transformation, training, exercises, and outreach based on contractual requirements, while maintaining a healthy timeline, budget, and team environment
 - Client Relationship Management : Build deep relationships with clients by establishing trust at all levels (including executives), fostering a collaborative team culture, driving projects forward reliably, and keeping an eye out for opportunities to add value
 - Subject-Matter Expertise : Apply subject-matter expertise in emergency management planning to ensure service quality and bring innovative solutions to clients
 - Leadership and Culture : Lead multi-layered project teams, setting up team members for success, maintaining high-level standards, and maintaining a healthy team culture. Supervise team members at multiple levels, as assigned.

This position can be fully remote, but preference may be given to candidates who can perform the role in a hybrid setting with periodic commuting to client sites in the California Bay Area.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience8+ years of progressive experience in emergency management and / or emergency management consulting3+ years of experience as a managerProficiency in managing client relationships and budgeted consulting projectsExcellent communication, writing, and facilitation skillsProficiency in MS 365 suiteAbility to commute periodically within the California Bay AreaAbility to travel approximately 20%Ability to pass a Federal public trust background check and / or security clearance investigationNice-To-Have Qualifications
Direct experience working for a state or local emergency management agencyExperience with community and stakeholder outreachProficiency in graphic designExperience with data analysis and visualizationMaster's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related fieldProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationWhat We Offer
