The COTA is accountable for the provision of Occupational Therapy in accordance with state law and national occupational therapy guidelines, including evaluation of the patient, conception and delivery of the plan of care, follow-up evaluation, and discharge planning. Is accountable for education of the patient, family, staff, and students. Provides accurate and timely documentation of all care provided. Treats patients in the acute care, LTC, and Outpatient setting. Enters charges for services per department policy and procedure. Assists in performance improvement activities, safety monitoring, and professional development. Supervises and delegates work to the COTA, and OTA students and RSA. Provides services to all age groups.
