American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in a high acuity acute care setting, requiring an active IL RN license and ICU skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an 8-bed high acuity ICU within an acute care hospitalNurse to patient ratios are 1 : 2-3Patient population includes respiratory failure, post-surgical, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac patientsResponsible for PEG tube care, CVC / PICC / Midline usage and care, tracheostomy care, sedated and ventilated patientsMust titrate a variety of ICU drips including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, CardizemUtilizes Epic EMR; Epic experience not required but preferredAll 8 ICU beds are equipped with hard-wired Philips telemetry, monitored centrally by a telemetry tech12-hour night shifts (7pm–7 : 30am), every other weekend, and holiday rotation requiredICU RNs may float to the Medical-Surgical unit as neededNo on-call requirement currently but subject to changePrimary nursing care model with no nurse aides or patient care techs on the unitHouse supervisor available 24 / 7; hospitalist or intensivist available in-house during days and telehealth MD coverage after hoursRespiratory therapist in-house 24 / 7 for ventilator and respiratory equipment managementTwo shifts of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor, plus additional classroom orientation per policyScrubs required; any color is acceptable, only facility-approved t-shirts allowedHoliday coverage is required as part of the scheduling rotationCandidates with a permanent address within 50 miles will receive a local rateCOVID vaccination is not required\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at the time of considerationCurrent BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required; copies of active certifications must be providedMinimum 1 year of recent ICU experience requiredCompetency in PEG tube care, CVC / PICC / Midline management, tracheostomy, ventilated patient care, and titration of critical dripsExperience with Epic EMR preferredMust pass a comprehensive drug screenReferences from a supervisor within the last 12 months and a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years must be providedNursys verification required for RN submissions\n Benefits\n
