American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position with night shifts, requiring AZ or compact RN license and advanced OB certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit within a short-term acute care and teaching environmentPatient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults, primarily 36 weeks gestation and beyond in an antepartum Level 1 settingUnit has 4 labor rooms, 2 triage rooms, 2 OR suites, 10 postpartum rooms, and 2 stabilization nursery bedsRequired to work three 12-hour night shifts per week (6 : 30pm-6 : 30am)Call required : 1-2 call shifts (12 hours each) every 8 weeksEvery other weekend shifts requiredFloating to other units or affiliate hospitals within scope may be required based on census and skillsUses Pyxis medication system and Cerner for chartingMust work in all areas of Labor and Delivery, including circulating and triageSpecialized equipment includes infant warmers, PANDAs, and Centrak infant securityScrubs provided; navy blue requiredResponsibilities include providing care for laboring mothers, postpartum care, triage, delivery, and recoveryMust adhere to all facility safety and medication protocols including BCMASupport provided by in-house NP / NNP 24 / 7, IV team, phlebotomy, pharmacy, respiratory, and moreInterpretation services available for patient careModules and orientation must be completed during the first week, with no RTO allowed in this periodRTO exceeding 5 days or covering a holiday requires managerial approval; must work 2 of 3 major holidaysFirst-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers preferredReturn applicants must wait 12 months after previous employment and require rehire approval if previously employed in any capacity at this health systemFree parking available on siteTravel pairs accommodated if requested\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at startMinimum of 2 years recent Labor and Delivery RN experienceCurrent certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Advanced, and Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)Experience with Cerner charting preferredAbility to perform in all L&D areas including circulating and triageTwo professional references required; one from current or most recent employer within the last yearMust be able to float as directed within hospital and to affiliatesPending RN licenses accepted for offer, but license must be active prior to start\n Benefits\n
