About The Position

Experience : 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital required.

License : Nebraska RN License required.

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS required.

Must-Have :

Two years of prior experience in a mixed acuity unit.

Epic charting experience required.

First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 2 years of experience at a Level 1 Academic Medical Center.

Willingness to float within scope as needed.

Description :

This is a mixed acuity unit caring for medical surgical patients specializing in neurology and neurosurgery.

The unit has 48 beds and patients include those with strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions.

Staffing ratios are 1 : 5 days and 1 : 6 nights for medical / surgical patients.

Stepdown ratios are 1 : 3-4 for days and nights.

Drip management is required on all floors.

Weekend commitment includes 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.

Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

The facility is a nicotine-free environment.

Travelers must submit any requested time off with their application.

RTO requests beyond two weeks may be denied.

Documentation must be completed before the contract begins.

All contracts must end on a Sunday.

Travelers must attend a mandatory charting class the Friday of orientation week.

Compliance documents are due by Tuesday prior to the start of the contract.

Candidates must be more than 100 miles from the facility.

All applicants must have at least applied for any necessary licenses at the time of submission.
