Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 13 Weeks Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in managing a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to policy.
• Share in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing and time management.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Actively participate and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

This position is scheduled for a day shift consisting of three 12-hour days per week, totaling 36 hours.
