Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract

Unit : Med / Surg (Medical-Surgical Nursing)

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 16, 2026

Duration : 13-week contract

Shift : 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Coverage : Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Call Requirement : One shift per 6-week schedule

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5

Patient Population : Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Census : 10-13 patients

Orientation : 40 hours (includes online modules)

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1610-$1730

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications

Experience with Allscripts or Altera electronic charting systems preferred

Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Ability to complete facility drug screening (including marijuana) upon arrival

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Must be available to complete lab items within 72 hours of offer acceptance

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy Med / Surg unit

Manage a patient assignment of 5, including post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, and urological cases

Perform essential nursing skills : IV starts, wound care, blood product administration, colostomy care, and more

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services

Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed

Document patient care accurately and efficiently using electronic charting systems

Participate in orientation and complete required training modules

Provide weekend and on-call coverage as scheduled
