- Overview
We are seeking a GCP Cloud Platform Engineer to join the Data Platform Engineering (DPE) team within a Fortune 50 healthcare organization. The DPE team is responsible for driving cloud infrastructure innovation by delivering automated, scalable, and secure platform solutions.
This engineer will work cross-functionally with IT and engineering teams to onboard and enable infrastructure that supports various data workloads. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across GCP services, Terraform, CI / CD, and modern data tooling such as Databricks, Snowflake, and BigQuery.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain GCP infrastructure to support data platform workloads.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and infrastructure teams to onboard new projects and ensure proper governance, security, and compliance controls are in place.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Terraform and Jenkins.
- Manage and optimize BigQuery environments to ensure efficient performance and cost control.
- Support both relational and non-relational database technologies for data integration and storage.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to support a sensitive military data initiative, which involves modernizing legacy telephony data systems within GCP.
- Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and compliance with healthcare and federal data regulations.
- Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Cloud or Platform Engineer, with at least 3+ years in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong proficiency in BigQuery.
- Experience with Databricks and / or Snowflake in cloud data environments.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Jenkins for automation and CI / CD.
- Strong understanding of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Bigtable) database systems.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Working knowledge of IAM, networking, and security principles in GCP.
- Must be eligible to complete an e-QIP / SF-86 background investigation (required due to work with sensitive data).
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale or regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, government).
- Familiarity with Google Cloud-based telephony or contact center modernization initiatives.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Cloud Engineer certification.

Pay : $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
