ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed off-site in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure, and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The Safety Manager provides training on and ensures that the organization adheres to all relevant safety regulations, production standards, company processes and procedures, and quality certifications while encouraging and empowering employees to take responsibility for all three Safety, Production, and Quality areas (SPQ) by fostering a collaborative team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, update, and enforce safety, production, and quality policies and procedures to ensure a healthy, compliant, and efficient work environment.
- Work with managers, supervisors, field personnel, and quality control staff to resolve issues that impact safety, production, and quality.
- Organize and deliver training and presentations for Management on safety protocols, hazard communication, proper equipment operation, and emergency procedures.
- Regularly inspect work areas, equipment, and production processes to identify areas where gaps exist between desired and actual SPQ performance along with potential hazards, quality issues, and compliance gaps. Prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures and ensure measures are implemented.
- Document job site conditions through standardized metric-driven reporting
- Responsible for site-specific safety plan onsite inspection for compliance and improvement
- Collaboratively develop and implement new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention
- Maintain safety files and records in a self-auditing manner and dashboard status
- Conduct root-cause investigations of accidents and near-misses to determine causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence by analyzing incident data.
- Assist in the development, evaluation, and upgrading of safety programs.
- Collaboratively develop, maintain, and coordinate Job Hazard Analysis Reports with project teams
- Conduct special studies and analysis of occupational safety programs and policies
- Travel to various projects as assigned.
- Perform basic office duties, including typing, copying, emailing, etc.
- Operate tools and machinery as required
- May be required to work outside of normal business hours, as dictated by project needs
- Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate
- Maintain the standards, culture, and values of ModCorr
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or related experience preferred3-5 Years of related experience preferredExperience in state and federal OSHA and Workers' Compensation preferredConstruction industry experience requiredStrong skills in MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.Valid Driver’s LicenseOSHA-30 certificationEffective communication skillsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsLeadership and interpersonal skillsPosition may evolve to include management of additional staff as the department developsPhysical Demands :
