Come join our Colonial Heights, VA facility where we manufacture Trojan condoms and Scent Booster in-wash additives.
Role Summary
Responsible for developing standardization and providing technical direction for all aspects and activities associated with Compounding and Dipping of Trojan condoms in the Colonial Heights facility. Contribute to production improvements as part of engineering team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and act as a Subject Matter Expert for new product trials and qualifications in the most cost-effective manner and still meet production and budget goalsProvide technical support to the Dipping and Compounding Departments to assure the necessary processing of compounded latex and lubricants needed to keep Dipping, Apollo, and Combo production operations runningPerform DOE and statistical analysis to create latex parameter matrices for each product. Ensure adherence to the defined parameters through the compounding and dipping processDevelops test plans and schedules at the request of R&D for new product design and developmentEstablish an algorithm for assigning compounded latex to dip line reserve tanks.Supports all Dipping and Compounding production equipment to assure it is operating efficiently and within validated specificationSupports preventative maintenance, data collection, reliability programs to meet quality and production requirementsDirects procurement of necessary supplies and material needed to support compounding and production activitiesPrepares various reports including monthly department activity, production and capacity, weekly and monthly quality requirementsUses analytical data results and trends to guide process parameter decisions.Working with the planning department, monitor raw material inventory and develop inventory control processesOversees and coordinates work with R&D, GNPI and consultants as needed.Supports continuous improvement tools, Lean, root cause analysis and cost reduction activitiesPlan and execute Capital Projects related to process improvement and production continuity in the Compounding and Dipping departmentsMinimum Education, Training, and Experience Requirements
B.S. degree in a science discipline. (B.S. in engineering preferred)Experience in Medical Device, food, drug or other FDA / GMP regulated facilitiesPossess a thorough understanding of statistical analysis and sampling plansPreferred Education, Training, and Experience
Green Belt in Six SigmaPrefer demonstrated use of Quality tools / methodologies including DOE, FMEA, CAPA, complaint investigation and trend analysis, process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ)Prefer familiarity with Medical Device industry regulations including FDA QSR's, EN 46001, ISO 13485 and the Medical Device DirectiveASQ, Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent certification is a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.Ability to design, evaluate, troubleshoot and improve manufacturing practices is a plus.Understanding of business operations is a plusMicrosoft Office 365 (Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook) software is a mustMust have intimate knowledge of production latex or chemical compounding equipment (pumps control valves, compounding kettles, agitators, etc). Prefer experience with high speed thin wall latex dipping product equipment. Must have a working understanding of the Compounding manufacturing process equipment (pumps, control valves, agitators, etc.)Demonstrate ambiguity to changeWorking Conditions
Work is performed in a fast-paced work environment with changes in workload and work schedule. Work is performed primarily indoors in a processing and manufacturing environment.
