CVICU RN Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU nursing experience (Required)

Open-heart surgery experience (Required)

Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (Required)

COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations (Required; declinations not accepted)

ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications (Required)

Experience with Cerner EMR (Strongly Preferred)

Thoracic, vascular, and interventional nursing experience (Preferred)

Submission must include resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), 2 supervisory references, and active certifications

At least 1 year of overall nursing experience required

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

Assess and address the physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of CVICU patients

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans

Lead and collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver optimal patient care

Conduct patient evaluations and accurately document clinical progress

Participate in treatment planning and discharge processes

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from open-heart and other cardiovascular procedures
