Accounting Supervisor
Our Fortune 500 client in the financial services industry is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join their team. This person will lead the accounting team and ensure financial accuracy and compliance in consolidations, deposits, investments, tax credit, and other reporting areas. Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting functions and period-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to applicable standards.
Supervise and review accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation across multiple areas of responsibility.
Manage preparation and review of internal and external financial reports, analyses, and supporting schedules.
Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Lead and support special projects, process improvements, and implementation of new systems, tools, or procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Review and validate financial data, reports, and materials prepared for senior leadership, boards, or other stakeholders.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory agencies.
Monitor and interpret emerging regulations, standards, and best practices, assessing their potential impact on the organization.
Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA license or MBA preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Banking or financial institution experience strongly preferred; experience in public accounting or an investment accounting firm a plus.
Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting concepts.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to shifting requirements in fast-paced environments.
Strong collaborative skills with the ability to build and leverage cross-functional relationships.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger and Workiva software preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret complex regulations and prepare reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $110K - $115K depending upon experience.
