Responsibilities Work in the Multi Care Unit (MCU), an acute care setting functioning as an ICU, PCU, or MST as needed Unit has 10 beds with variable nurse-to-patient ratios depending on acuity : ICU 1 : 2, PCU 1 : 4, MST 1 : 5-6 Care for high-acuity patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory arrest, DKA, drug or alcohol withdrawal, post-op complications, and more RNs titrate sedation, vasopressors, and insulin drips 12-hour night shifts (approximate hours : 1900-0730) Every other weekend required (nights : Friday / Saturday) Holiday rotation required for fair distribution of holidays Unit operates with respiratory therapy support for ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP Use of Cerner EMR for documentation Must float to Medical Surgical / Telemetry and Pediatric units for adult assignments, as well as West Campus ICU / PCU with at least two hours' notice First to float policy for travelers Provide care for a range of acuity levels within a single adaptable unit RNs are responsible for titrating critical infusions and monitoring complex patients Unit is supported by charge RNs and monitor techs for telemetry support If nurse aide unavailable, RN assumes primary care duties for up to three patients Attend both hospital and unit-specific orientation Scrubs may be any color except camouflage Relias dysrhythmia and sterile technique testing required during orientation; failing both attempts results in ineligibility for CommonSpirit AZ / Sacramento positions for 6 months May float to adult assignments on peds unit and to West Campus ICU / PCU to maintain competencies Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Minimum two years of ICU experience required; one year ICU combined with one year PCU or Med Surg in a large facility may be considered with strong skills Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing Ability to monitor bedside cardiac monitors, interpret strips, and perform 12-lead EKGs May not have worked as a full time, part time, or PRN employee for any CommonSpirit facility in the past 12 months Must live at least 50 miles from the facility Copy of driver's license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620212.
