Job title : Athletic Trainer

Position Summary :

The Athletic Trainer position provides medical care (prevention of and response to injuries) to active people of all ages and in a wide range of settings. The role includes many disciplines but are not limited to injury prevention, injury rehabilitation & prevention, and emergency and concussion care.

Position Responsibilities :

Cover athletic events and after-school activities at a contracted high school.

Prevention, evaluation, and management / rehab of athletic injuries : collect histories, perform physical evaluations, diagnose injuries, and determine a plan of action.

Communicate findings and plan of action with athlete, their parent, and the coach.

Concussion management : assess and diagnose concussions, manage (symptom monitoring, supervising the return to play progression), and determine when the athlete may safely return to activity.

Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required.

1+ years related work experience required.

Must hold and maintain a current Athletic Trainer license by the state of Wisconsin.

Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.

Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.

BLS certification required.
