The Residential Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of a residential care facility serving individuals with intellectual disabilities and / or behavioral disorders under ODP 6400 Regulations. This position ensures that the facility operates in compliance with all regulatory requirements, providing high-quality care, supervision, and support to individuals in accordance with their Individual Support Plans (ISPs). The Residential Manager is responsible for managing staff, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, and working closely with families, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with ODP 6400 Regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Supervise and provide leadership to direct care staff, ensuring they are trained, supported, and perform duties in alignment with policies and regulations.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of individualized care plans and ISPs for each resident.
- Provide direct support and supervision to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.
- Conduct regular assessments of residents' needs, making adjustments to care plans as necessary.
- Manage the daily operations of the residential facility, including maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and a homelike environment.
- Monitor and track the health and medication needs of residents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of any medical or behavioral changes.
- Ensure that all incidents are documented and reported according to agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing policies and procedures that ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with external service providers, families, and other stakeholders to ensure that residents’ needs are met and concerns are addressed.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide performance feedback to team members.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff members.
- Ensure that all required documentation, including training, incident reports, and care plans, are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and manage budgets for the residential care program, including cost-effective purchasing and resource allocation.
- Provide on-call support as needed for emergency situations and to ensure continuous operation of the facility.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nursing, or related field (preferred).Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential care for individuals with intellectual disabilities or related populations.Knowledge of ODP 6400 Regulations and other relevant state and federal regulations.Strong leadership and team management skills.Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and external partners.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively.Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and reliable transportation.First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).Must pass criminal background check, child abuse clearance, and drug screening.Working Conditions :
