JOB SUMMARY
The Program Delivery Specialist is a vital member of the Meals on Wheels Central Texas (MOWCTX) mission delivery team, responsible for ensuring timely and compassionate delivery of meals and essential items to neighbors across assigned geographic areas. This role supports daily operations by executing delivery routes, responding to emergent needs, and maintaining effective communication with internal teams and community partners. As a front-line ambassador of MOWCTX, the Program Delivery Specialist plays a key role in client satisfaction, safety, and service excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED preferred
 - 1+ years’ experience in in delivery, logistics, or customer service
 - Familiarity with GPS and mobile applications for navigation and reporting
 - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform physical tasks in a variety of environments
 - Commitment to the mission and values of Meals on Wheels Central Texas
 - Valid Texas driver’s license and insurable under MOWCTX insurance policies
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute assigned delivery routes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of meals and supplies to clientsServe as a substitute driver for “no-show” or missed routes, maintaining flexibility and responsivenessSafely operate MOWCTX vehicles and complete daily vehicle inspections and temperature checksCommunicate effectively with Volunteer Services, Distribution, and Program Operations teams to resolve delivery issuesMaintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including route sheets, client interactions, and incident reportsRepresent MOWCTX professionally in the community, wearing branded attire and ID badgeAssist with delivery of special items (e.g., microwaves, doorbells) and perform light maintenance tasks as needed. Support pick-up site operations and act as a “meal manager” when assignedRespond appropriately to emergency situations involving clients and report concerns promptlyReturn all equipment, keys, and documentation to designated locations after route completionParticipate in annual driving safety training and adhere to all safety protocolsContribute to organizational goals by completing required shifts in meal delivery, office support, or program managementWORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
