Certifications : ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), BLS (AHA)

Must-Have : BSN preferred, Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred, Traveler must have own vehicle

Description :

Effective immediately, a Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License is required for submissions.

This is a very small unit.

Call-outs will not be allowed.

Call-outs will close this unit and adversely affect patient care.

Please submit only your most dependable and reliable candidates.

Requested time off during this assignment must be noted and verified at the time of submission.

Requests for time off after submission will not be approved.

No more than 3 days of time off will be accepted.

Block scheduling will not be considered for this need.

Very little time off will be approved for this small unit.

One holiday off will be approved, with 3 days or less being preferable.

Holiday coverage includes Thanksgiving and the Friday / weekend after, Christmas Eve / Christmas Day and the Friday / weekend after, and New Year’s Eve / New Year Day and the Friday / weekend after.

Extensions requested to end in November or before the holiday starts in December will not be considered for extension at the beginning of 2026.

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.

The patient ratio is 1 : 3.

The unit has 3 beds; it is a small community hospital and not a pediatric intensive care unit.

There is not a second nurse scheduled for the unit.

The maximum number of patients is 3.

There is backup from other staff on-site.

Travelers will have a security badge with a panic button to get immediate help.

Respiratory and IV therapists can cover the unit as needed.

Experienced Pediatric nurses understand the unique needs of children and adolescents and the importance of family involvement in their care.

Rooming in for parents who wish to remain with their child during the hospital stay is provided.

A variety of in-room games and videos, as well as a playroom for non-contagious patients, are available to enhance the experience.
